Welcome to the third edition of this impromptu performance, where the dancer’s knowledge and craftsmanship create the choreography in real time.
In Performing Underscore #3, we get to meet national and international professional dancers who work with improvisation as an elaborate and specific genre in dance. A rigorous and dedicated practice and the investigation of philosophical, psychological and political questions through the body in motion are at the center.
Performing Underscore #3 is an experiment and event that can never be repeated. A choreography of intimacy, relationships, unpredictability, risk-taking and presence – but also of skill, detail and precision that arises from a careful listening to an experienced bodily craft.
The evening is organized by Tuva Hildebrand and Plattform för Improvisation & Somatics, and is part of a mini-festival and symposium for somatic dance practices that will take place in March 2026
Score is similar to a score in music, but can be interpreted freely; It can be instructions, text, questions or visual information that the dancer interprets through improvisation.
