BUTCH REALNESS AS QARL QUNT ENTERS THE STAGE
When Sofia Södergård enters the stage transformed into the drag king Qarl Qunt, anything can happen. Qarl has the firmest handshake and is of the opinion that there a few things that can compare to pickeld vegetables. With an interest in power and sexuality, he invites you to a crossover that lands between cabaret and performance. Through the dance styles Voguing and Waacking, Butch Realness is being delivered challenging masculine and feminine stereotypes.
Sofia Södergård was the winner for Best Drag King on Sweden’s very first Vouge Ball 2017, here at

Vogue, or Voguing, happened in the 80’s club scene in New York. The dance style was first developed in the gay circles in Harlem in the 60’s but became widely known after Madonna’s song 1990. Inspired by the fashion magazine Vogue, the dance features catwalk-like techniques and poses, but also influences from martial arts and Egyptian hieroglyphs.
