Wagner, a swan-boat and lot of beliefs. Charlotte Engelkes continues to explore Richard Wagner and his operas with a confident touch of humour and craziness. After successes such as Miss Very Wagner and Siegfried – the Very Wagner Hero Hour, her next project is Lohengrin – an opera about false accusation, ridicule and restitution.

Engelkes introduces three dancers, two acrobats and one opera singer in an epic creation in a form of a dream. Lohengrin Dreams is a dance performance about faith and doubts, a struggle between the naïve and cruel, all of which is packed into Engelkes wondrous eccentric aesthetics. Perhaps one day he will arrive … Lohengrin … as in Wagner’s opera, floating on a Swan.

The premiere of Engelkes performance will take place at Norrlandsoperan on 23 November 2019. During the winter, the show will be touring around the country via Dansnät Sverige.

Charlotte Engelkes is a director and a performance artist. Her performances are shown in Sweden and at dance and theatre festivals around the world. Her artistic range stretches over dance, theatre, performance and opera – all in her own supremely personal manner.
Dancenet Sweden has earlier toured Charlotte Engelkes performances, Miss Jekyll & Hyde (2004) and Min Mamma – A Documentary Musical (2017).
